Comic book movies coming soon!

Comic book movies have never been more popular, and almost all your favorite superheroes have been projected onto the silver screen. There's still a way to go before all bases are covered, but here's a list of whats coming up...

BATMAN: The Dark Knight Rises

So the Christopher Nolan run of Batman comes to an end. He's (at first) reluctantly returned to the mantle, but himself and his brother have been working on the screenplay that will conclude the Batman saga. Bale is back as Batman, Michael Caine is back as Alfred, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox - but with two new(to Nolan) villains - Catwoman, played by Anne Hathaway and Bane, played by British actor Tom Hardy (meaning Batman, Alfred and Bane are all played by Brit actors). The inclusion of Bane and the assumed 'conclusion' make me think that this could well be a rendition of the 'Knightfall' story - In which Bane breaks Batman's back. Released July 20th, 2012.

The Amazing Spider-Man

Either my spidey-senses are tingling or i caught something nasty. Either way, a new Spider-man movie is on the way, and once again, we see Peter Parker's origin story. Fresh new suit, fresh new Brit actor (what is going on here?) in the form of Andrew Garfield. The trailer is pretty awesome. Due 4th July 2012.

SUPERMAN: Man of Steel
Well, it looks like we are going to have the Superman origin story pasted all over our minds once again. Not that i mind, but we did just have a TV show about it (not that i saw that, either). However, it will be good to have a fresh and modern take on the Man of Steel, and it can't be worse than anything Marvel is currently squeezing out. Henry Cavill (Another English actor!) is wearing the red cape and booties this time round. Due 14th June 2013.

The Avengers
A selection of Marvels best and brightest heroes are recruited by Nick Fury and the peace-keeping organisation, S.H.I.E.L.D. This has been the whole point in the run of Marvel movies that have been abundantly produced but logistically spaced out in past few years. We'll be seeing Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk, Black Canary, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye. Ed Norton apparently fell out with the team behind the Avengers, so he will not be reprising the role. The best thing about this so far is that Joss Whedon (Buffy, Firefly, Serenity) is writing and directing. Would be the best superhero ensemble around, if it wasn't for...

Justice League

With a current Batman series coming to a close, Green Lantern being out and an upcoming Superman film, it is only a matter of time before a Justice League film comes to fruition. Listed as 'In Development' under the name Justice League: Mortal, this could be the film that completely trounces Marvel again. However, Nolan has made it quite clear that his Batman exists in a universe entirely different from that of the other super heroes involved. This could mean an entirely different Batman to the one the films have portrayed these last few years.

The Flash

So with a date of 2013 confirmed for a Flash movie, and an indication that the Barry Allen character is going to be revived(just like in the new 52!), It seems fitting that a Flash movie appear before the Justice League movie does. It would also be awesome to have on really great origin story movie for The Flash. This is a movie i really can't wait for.

 Deadpool

Complete reboot of Deadpool has been announced with Ryan Reynolds reprising the role of his assassin that came to a sticky end in X Men: Origins. The script is said to be R-Rated and may involve the writers of Zombieland. Ryan Reynolds had this to say: 'Look, I'm into any role in which i get to kick Captain America in the nuts. Yeah, the script is in the works' I really hope the bit about kicking Captain America in the 'nads is true...

Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the wall

If you aren't reading this already you should be. With the film announced and based on Millar's second run of Kick-Ass comics, this is one you cannot miss. however, screenwriter Jane Goldman says 'I don't think this is going to happen' which either means 'This is definitely going to happen' or quite literally means 'i don't think this is going to happen'.

Other comic book movies announced/rumoured:
Ghost rider:spirit of vengeance, Sin City 2, Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2, Green Lantern 2, The Wolverine, Mortal Kombat, Untitled X-Men sequel(first class 2?), Gambit, Untitled Batman reboot(2015), Aquaman, Fantastic Four(re-boot), Nick Fury, Wonder Woman. Doctor Strange, Teen Titans, Daredevil reboot, Punisher Reboot,
